WOW Triple Treat April Challenge

In March, an awesome company called WOW, (https://www.facebook.com/wordsorwhatever), otherwise known as "WORDS OR WHATEVER"  (they sell chipboard and heaps of other fun crafty stuff) put out a challenge to every crafter on Facebook.
Everyone was invited to send an S.A.E. to them and in return we would  receive some fantastic 'FREE' chipboard to take part in WOW's April Triple Treat Challenge.

WOW!!!!!!!......... is what I said to myself........ what a fantastic opportunity to use their
awesome product.

Only problem was that for most of April I have been so time poor and could never  find time to sit and do my challenge lay-out till 2 days ago and then......(wait for it lol)  I found a photo,
then decided on my background (Faux Mother of Pearl),
created the background and put it
aside to dry for 1 day.

I put the background page on the table
with the photo on it and then............wham bang........within half an hour
I had all the elements laid out on it and had worked out what to do with the chipboard.

I am so happy with how it all came together and with the final result.

SOOOO.......here is my entry for the WOW Triple Treat April Challenge

I hope you like it :-)

Jay-em-L Creations

Hey there!!! My name is Jan and I'm a passionate crafter and  I love designing & creating Cards,  Scrapbooking layouts, Off the Page Projects and Mixed Media Projects

I hold regular workshops at my Craft Studio in  Greenbank, Brisbane.   I do workshops that cover all areas of paper-craft -  from Card Making to Scrapbooking and I have recently added Mixed Media to my workshops as well as Crop Days, Scrap/Card Lift Workshops and Sunday Fun Days.

Workshop prices start at $20.00 which will give you either 3 cards or a 1 page scrapbook layout

Workshops are 2 hours but quite often go over that time because we always chat and have coffee/cakes etc and have too much of a good time to watch the clock.

Mixed Media workshops can take up to 3 hours - you get very messy with inks and paints etc so I advise to bring an apron and rubber/latex gloves to work in.

Prices for the Mixed Media workshops( Scrapbooking or Canvases) will depend on the type of workshop and how much product/embellishments is involved in the creation but generally they will start at $30.00.

My Friday night workshops are a dinner workshop, cost $20.00 and start at 5pm.  Bring a plate to share with everyone for dinner.   This is a fantastic way to get together with friends, make new friends and have an awesome time doing what we all love.

My Sunday Fun Day starts at 10am and is usually just that - a fun day to learn new techniques, finish projects  and start new projects.    The day costs $10.00 which covers the cost of using my tools, inks, sprays, paints  etc etc....Card and Paper stock,  embellishments etc etc are extra.   BYO lunch or bring a plate to share.

Morning/afternoon tea and nibblies are provided

KRAFT + PLUS APRIL RETRO RECIPE CHALLENGE

Kraft + Plus Challenge has an awesome new challenge for us for April.

It's time to head out to your scrap room and start cooking up a Krafty storm!
And I am sure we are bound to find many Masterchefs in amongst the entrants.

It is as simple as following the recipe in the above photo and remember to use the colour scheme and to make the Kraft shine in your layout.

I have created 2 entries for this challenge  - the first one is set of 3 Cards and the second one is a 2 page layout of my daughters Miss Muddy team called Miss Mudders.
The Retro colour scheme fitted this perfectly as her team colour is orange.

FIRST ENTRY

Here is my take on the Retro Challenge - a set of 3 cards......
I created the colourful background on 12" x 12" Kraft Card by covering it with a thickish layer of Gesso then used various items like a ruler, bottle tops, bubble wrap etc to create different textures and patterns all over it then I used pieces of  sponge and ink pads to colour it with the Retro colours.
